Jon Freeman
Founder, Principal owner and President
Jon Freeman is a visionary who has successfully seeded and grown Stonecrest’s many divisions. He is an active real estate investor, cultivating a portfolio of significant properties in the San Francisco Bay Area and nationwide since 1986. Jon earned his BA in Business Administration from the University of San Diego and is a California licensed Real Estate Broker. Jon is also dedicated to ‘hand up’ philanthropy by supporting social enterprise and women’s education initiatives that empower women to lift themselves out of poverty.

Shafiq Taymuree
Executive Vice President
As a member of Stonecrest’s senior level management team, Shafiq serves as head of our private lending division as well as playing a key role in managing our investment funds. Since joining Stonecrest in 1998, he has contributed to the growth of the company in multiple capacities, including business development, employee mentorship, and product development. Shafiq is also an active participant and thought leader in the private lending and investment advisor space. He is a long-time member of the California Mortgage Association, serving as a member of the Board of Directors, and served two terms as President. Shafiq attended Cal State East Bay, where he majored in finance.

Erika Luitjens
Director of Operations
Erika has been with Stonecrest since 2011. She oversees operational activities and assists in setting strategic goals for the company. Her responsibilities include managing human resources as well as Stonecrest’s digital media footprint, including web and social media platform development as well as digital marketing for the company’s three lines of business (mortgage lending, investments, and acquisitions). Erika also serves as Executive Director for CapCon Foundation, a Stonecrest impact investment vehicle that focuses on eradicating poverty through economically sustainable, market-based initiatives which improve the lives & livelihoods of the world’s most vulnerable populations. Erika has a Bachelors in Business Administration from the Babes Bolyai University, in Cluj- Napoca, Romania.
Bryan Grossman
Director of Finance / Controller
Bryan joined Stonecrest in 2022 as its Director of Finance / Controller, charged with overseeing financial operations. He also manages the accounting department and oversees relationships with bankers, tax professionals, investors and borrowers. Through his 16 years in commercial real estate, Bryan has held managerial positions in accounting, finance, construction management and property management. He specializes in asset valuation and real property taxation, skills that have enabled him to effectively underwrite and manage a wide variety of business and investment structures. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He loves spending time with his wife, Marissa and their son, Bodhi. Bryan’s passions include travel, sports/adventure, electronic music production and cinema.
Leigh Faber
Underwriter, Portfolio Manager
Leigh joined the Stonecrest Team in 2015. Being in the financial service industry for over 20 years, she has been a Project Consultant for the FDIC, the Vice President of Loan Default Administration, an Investment Manager for a real estate family office, the Director of Investor Relations for a financial service sector asset management firm, and a Vice President of Capital Introduction. Leigh is a California native with a degree in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University. She has expertise in single family loan servicing, real estate development, alternative investments and structured products. She is a co-founder of the Northwest Hedge Fund Society, an Original Director of REOMAC and a member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds as well as participates with Hedge Funds Care which focuses on neglected and abused children.
Christina Gray
Senior Investment Relations Manager
Christina joined the Stonecrest team in 2006 with the task of expanding our family of Real Estate Funds. For the past decade, she has helped grow our 5 funds to over $200,000,000 in managed assets. Through Stonecrest’s Alternative Real Estate Investments, she strategically works with RIA Advisors and Individual Investors to achieve higher yields, diversification and steady income. Christina is deeply involved with the Financial Planning Association and is currently serving her 5th year on the San Francisco FPA Board as the Director of Corporate Sponsors. She has also been involved with the Silicon Valley FPA Chapter for over 8 years. Prior to joining Stonecrest, Christina was a top producer at AT&T in the telecommunications industry and Tricom Technology based out of London, England. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from UCSC, and lives with her husband David in Saratoga with her grown children nearby in San Francisco.
